Chairs and Tables Limited was born in September 2002 in rural Suffolk close to the seaside town of Southwold and we began importing directly from Indonesia in 2004. We initially began sourcing our products through export companies based locally to produce our furniture.
In 2010 we made the move to become the "exporter".
We rented a warehouse in Jepara and hired local staff and began to purchased the furniture direct from the best specialist producers in the area.
This give us the best control over the whole production process from the purchase of the highest grade timber from the Indonesian government control plantations, through the whole manufacturing process, to the purchase of all the brass fittings and packaging.
We personally travel to Indonesia each year to visit producers and fine tune product based on your feedback.
We are currently using 9 different family run businesses to produce our furniture and we visit them regularly to check progress and quality.
Then each supplier delivers their finished items to our warehouse where we are able to check again for any production faults and every item is then sanded again to give each piece that silky smooth feel. We then package and load each item ourselves.
It has always been our philosophy to source the best products possible with ethical production using only sustainably sourced materials.
We like to be slightly different to our larger competitors.
Most of our tables have a chunkier feel with 40mm thick table tops and 7x7cm thick table legs and the same applies to our benches with a stronger more durable feel again with the 7x7cm legs.
Chairs and Tables Ltd does not have a showroom displaying our furniture, however visitors are very welcome to visit our warehouse where we can show most items but we do request that you make an appointment first
